Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is looking for thousands of volunteers to join him on Saturday, May 3, Saturday; May, 10; and Saturday, May 17, for the city of Detroit’s annual bagged-litter campaign, Motor City Makeover.

As in the last several years, city resources will be concentrated in specific sectors each weekend during the makeover.

To volunteer for Motor City Makeover residents, business owners, churches, block clubs and schools should call (313) 224-4415.  In addition to picking up litter, several other activities are planned in an effort to beautify Detroit. Some volunteers will paint over graffiti as well as plant flowers and trees.
